Matt basks in the Barbados sun to end Where in the World trip

Matt held a party of epic proportions in Barbados this morning to close out his week-long, global journey around the world.

To reveal the location, Matt did a hilarious take on the famed Old Spice commercials. Hint: Matt ended up on a horse. Watch it here!

"Clearly Matt is losing it," Ann joked as the three anchors laughed at Matt's reveal. "Best one yet," they agreed.

As for Barbados, who can blame Matt for kicking back on the beach for a bit?

He's traveled almost 30,000 miles over four continents. Matt deserves a bit of R&R, and that's just what he's getting at the stunning Sandy Lane Resort.

About a quarter of a million people live on this island, which is part of the Lesser Antilles. The locals have a great expression: "Life didn't begin on Barbados, but it was perfected here."

For 70 miles, the beaches that ring this tropical island make up some of the best views in the world.

But you're missing out if you just stay on the sand. Jump into the water (a balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit) and swim with sea turtles or surf in paradise.

Simon Cowell, the Beckhams and Oprah Winfrey are just some of the celebrities who vacation at the island's exclusive resorts.

Matt was joined this morning by Giada De Laurentiis, who helped the pair learn about calypso music and festivals. Locals wear colorful costumes and dress up as characters called "Shaggy Bear" and "Mother Sally."

Musician Alison Hinds also taught Matt and Giada a few dance moves, even though Matt tried to get out of it with a convenient "snowshoeing accident" excuse from his trip to Switzerland's Jungfraujoch.

It's an island of religion and rum: There are 365 churches and 1,600 rum shops in the country.

Giada also put her cooking skills to good use by showing Matt how to make some local delicacies, like a monkey cocktail! Watch the video below.

What else happened this morning? Local calypsonian Mighty Gabby serenaded Matt, who Gabby called "master of the TV," with a song he wrote specifically for our global traveler.

Travel expert Nilou Motamed also spotlighted the best places to stay and see when visiting the beautiful island.

And with a few more gifts for our anchors and a little fun in the water at Giada's expense (watch the hilarious video here), Matt finished up his 10th Where in the World journey in paradise.

NBC...I'm still waiting for you to contact me about going to these places. I'll do it for far less money than Matt will.

I am a location scout and love watching this project 'Where in the World...' Matt does every year. Matt of course is always great and how interesting to be able to see all these incredible places. I have to say I was so impressed this year with the production crew. Being thrown into having to change locations due to the weather in Jungfraujoch in the Swiss Alps. I'm sure they knew weather could be a problem and had made back up plans. But the fact they jumped through hoops and made everything look so smooth to the television viewer and the crew that had to spend the night up there in the crazy weather - just have to say awesome job crew, Matt and all other Today personalities!!! Today's reveal in Barbados - hilarious!! Thanks for the fun.

Thanks Matt for sharing parts of the world most of us will never see. TODAY's location was the best yet.....nothing like sun, sand and fun! Safe travels home!

I loved the reveal too but was disappointed it wasn't a more epic location for the final day! And surprised they did nothing to honor our Veterans. After yesterday I know it's hard to top but I had hoped for a more amazing final day. But I still love it all!

I too was a bit disappointed in Barbardos. While quite lovely, it is Veterans' Day and I was hoping for something more meaningful for our fallen heroes of wars past.

My first thought, too, that being it was Veterans Day it would have been nice if Matt traveled to one of the big WWII American cemeteries in Europe. Somehow seeing him on a beach, dancing, kind of put a damper on the final leg of his trip.

Matt needs to apologize to Giada and all women for his unprofessional behavior on the air by flipping Giada over on her face....that was totally uncalled for and very abusive. That is not how professionals treat one another. Matt behaved like a 9 year old and then the comments by Al Roker as Giada tried to climb back into her inner tube made me sick. We have NOT come a long way, baby.
