New York City-based photographer Tricia Messeroux’s “ToddleWood” project transforms children into iconic celebrities and historic moments.
So it only seemed fitting that she have some fun with the TODAY anchors!
A total of 82 kids turned out for the casting call to have a chance to play miniature version of the show’s talent. Then the photographer and her models hit Studio 1A to take the shots.

All of these pictures were soo cute...:)
So fantastic!
Just great play fun...children emulating adults. Not exploitation or contested pagent.
This is so wrong, on so many levels. Why would the anchors of the TODAY SHOW encourage the exploitation of children in this manner? Isn't this just one step away from the Toddlers and Tiaras mess? Kids wearing wigs, holding 'substitute wine glasses' for a ten-second spot? Please.
Shame on that photographer for even suggesting such a thing...and shame on the TODAY SHOW for producing this. Why can't we, as a society, allow kids to be kids anymore?
You're so ignorant its ridiculous. They are having fun. There's no exploitation of any sort. Some children like to take pictures and dress up, its normal. This isn't for any sort of trophy, just pure fun. And as for the substitute drinks, it's MILK! seriously? it's cute and they have cute little milk mustaches to go with it. It's not like they're in wine glasses or anything. You guys need to stop over thinking into stuff, because that's how the Salem With Trials started because of people like you who misconstrue things.
I agree with April Nejeres...they're having fun! ECPLOITATION!!?? you are all CRAZY!! is sad that some of you feel that way...
SERIOUSLY, Believer456? Exploitation?? Really?? I feel sorry for you. My nieces and nephews love to play dress up. What kid doesn't want to put on grown up clothes and play make believe? I'd rather they use their imaginations than sit in front of the idiot box (tv) or play video games. Bravo, Today and Tricia, I'd love to see more of these....
It is cute and not meant to be explotation of children. I watch the show every morning and they try and have fun while bringing us the news. After all some children love to play dress up...look at most of the photos the children are laughing.
Toddlers and Tiaras? Believer 456 , I think not. The children are not overly made up and they are not being forced to do anything. There is nothing nefarious going on here other that what is in your head. The children are having fun and they are plying dress up. This idea is smart, and sassy. It plays to children as well as to adults. Ms. Messeroux should be applauded for her forward thinking and ingeniousness.
Of course, it's fine for children to dress up and have fun. However, then showing those pictures to millions of people is, in fact, by definition, exploitation. The kids gained nothing relative to what the program did. They were used. That is exploitation, however slight and probably harmless in this case.

So... they dressed them up and let them play anchor for a day while snapping pictures? Sounds fine to me... and as they grow they have those pics to show off. Anyway... unless they made the kids dress up ONLY for the pics then I have no issues with it. as is, most of the pics look like the kids are having fun.... well some of them. I saw some scowls and whatnot but.... as long as they got to play and wanted to do it in the first place... but I also have an issue with things like "toddlers in tiaras" I mean come ON. I just watched a vid of a mother telling her little girl she wasn't allowed to be SILLY?! Kids should be allowed to be kids... if it is dressing up and having fun while being photographed... I see no issues but... once you take the fun out of it you cross the lines like that mother did... scolding a dad for teaching his daughter to be silly and a little girl for being silly.... THAT is line crossing. to be honest, I would stop liking them if I found out they just dressed them up made them pose and sent them home. kids are kids and people are people. simple.... but the ones who don't see that can do or ignore some pretty horrible @!$%#...
